What could be the cause of my frequent urination?
I am currently 32, diagnosed w/diabetes at age 28, for the last 2 years i have had frequent urination during day and night with urgency. Is it common to have this problem at my age? Is there medication that could help?
Have you ever had your prostate checked? An enlarged prostate gland could cause this problem.

It could be that your diabetic control is not very good.

Your diabetes could be poorly controlled or you could have a urinary tract infection with no pain and this is not normal for any age.

One of the symptoms of diabetes is frequent urination. Talk to your doctor about this and also have your prostate checked, although you are fairly young to have an enlarged prostate. There are medications available to help you with this problem and make life a little more comfortable. Good luck.

Is your blood sugar under control? Frequent voiding is a definite symptom of uncontolled DB.Talk with your doctor, the meds I know are prescription only.

Vesicare may help you, you would need a prescription from your doctor for it though. Frequent urination is a common syptom of diabetes so it’s not unusal at your age and your condition to have this problem.

Frequent urination comes with the territory of having Diabetes. I am sure that there is a pill to decrease urination but in your case I wouldn’t take it. Why? It is very easy for Diabetics to have fluid retention meaning you actually take in fluids without a problem but when it is time to excrete it you don’t go as much as you should. This causes swelling, normally in your lower extremities which is called edema. This will require you to take a med to make you urinate to get rid of the excess fluid. You most definitely do not want that. The best thing for you to do is maintain your blood sugar levels and be sure to eat right. I know that it is hard being so young and it sucks not being able to eat things that you want to but it is important to maintain your eating habits. If you don’t maintain your blood sugar levels, you will not only be frequently urinating but you will be having diarrhea all the time. Good luck and take care of yourself.
