ProstaEase Tincture ProstaEase is used as a male prostate tonic to help prevent benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) that is common to most men in mid-life and on. It will help reduce prostate swelling, keep testosterone healthy and help maintain a healthy libido. It also helps the dull ache, urine dribbling, weak urine flow, waking at night to urinate and can help men who have the inability to maintain an erection. If BPH exists, ProstaEase will help bring the prostate back into a healthy state and reduce all the symptoms that accompany BPH. It may help reduce the reasons why prostatic specific antigens (PSA) climb in numbers, which may be precursors to prostate cancer. ProstaEase can be used as a long-term tonic. It is a good idea for most men to treat their reproductive tracts annually with ProstaEase once they are over 50 years of age. This is when most prostate problems arise. Using ProstaEase for 1-2 months as a preventative once per year is a wise male preventative treatment f

Progesta-Life For Men 100 Ml From Devita International Aging… we’re stuck with it, but we don’t have to settle for it – there are things we can do to ease the inevitable. One of those things is Devita all natural Bioidentical Progesterone creams. As a male ages, his progesterone level decreases just like it does in women. In women this decrease occurs about the age of 35 and men about ten years later. When progesterone levels decrease, the male’s 5 alpha reductase converts the testosterone to di-hydro testosterone which is useless at removing the prostate cancer cells that estradiol stimulates. Estradiol also stimulates the enlargement of the prostate. This allows the prostate gland to swell and enlarge and in many cases transform into prostate cancer. Natural progesterone cream is biologically identical to same hormone men produce, and offers an alternative to taking synthetic hormones. It can help protect against the undesirable side effects of excess estradiol. May additionally assist older men as they seek to enhance their vitality. Men suffering from osteoporosis might also benefit from daily use. Men who would benefit from progesterone therapy not wishing to use a product made for a woman but manually re-meter dosage for male symptoms including, hair loss, lack of libido, fatigue as well as DHEA for the benefits to testicular health. Choose C Progesta-Life for MEN. WARNING: Before starting any new regime, it is always wise to consult with a health care professional.If irritation occurs, discontinue use. For external use only. Do not use around eye area. Action: Natural progesterone cream is biologically identical to same hormone men produce, and offers an alternative to taking synthetic hormones. It can help protect against the undesirable side effects of excess estradiol. Directions for use: Apply one full stroke of the pump to thin skinned areas: the testis, crook of the arms, back of the knees, the face, hands, breast bone, etc. Twice daily for 25

Just as in women, men can suffer from the effects of ‘estrogen dominance.’ Estrogen dominance (as it is sometimes referred to) is the result of an over-abundance of estrogen and estrogenic substances in the food we eat and in our modern environment. Research shows that estrogen dominance is a significant factor in both prostate cancer and breast cancer.Research also suggests that natural progesterone can counteract the toxic effects of estrogen dominance. But that’s just the beginning.It has been known for some time that natural progesterone enhances libido (sex drive) in men. It can also affect a man’s overall sense of well being.In healthy men, progesterone is made by the adrenal glands and the testes. Adequate levels of progesterone are an integral part in maintaining a healthy prostate.Two noted progesterone researchers, Dr. B. Formby and T. S. Wiley, recently published the results of their medical research that explains the important role of natural progesterone in promoting good health and well being for men. Research also shows that natural progesterone increases apoptosis ? often referred to as ‘the key to staying young.’ WARNINGS: Progesterone creams are currently restricted from sale in California as outlined under California’s Proposition 65. Warning This product contains a chemical known by the state of California to cause cancer. For external use only. If irritation occurs discontinue use . Pregnant or

7-KETO is a naturally occurring metabolite of DHEA, providing the same benefits of DHEA without its associated side effects. Because the body’s production of DHEA declines with age, so does the production of 7-Keto. Weight gain is a common sign of aging that often accompanies the decreased production of DHEA and its metabolites. Supplementation with Now 7-Keto can safely promote thermogenesis, thereby supporting the maintenance of healthy body weight. DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is an amazing natural hormone produced by the adrenal glands with numerous potential benefits. It is converted into androgens (male hormones) or estrogens (female hormones) in the cells. Our bodies produce less and less DHEA as we age. DHEA dietary supplements have been in use for a variety of reasons: To deter aging, improve sexual function/erectile dysfunction, treat cognitive decline, enhance athletic performance, facilitate weight loss, improve strength, treat osteoporosis, improve immunomodulation for rheumatologic conditions, and treat depression. DHEA level in our body decrease as we get older, generally falling significantly by the time we are 30. Increasing DHEA levels have been shown to improve one’s sense of well being, reduce body fat and improve skin tone and moisture, increase sex drive, improve immunity, enhance memory, and increase bone density. Who should take DHEA?: Most people over 30 have DHEA level way below the standard. DHEA supplementation helps these people to maintain youthful body and an improved life. However, men with prostate enlargement or prostate cancer and women on estrogen therapy should consult a physician before taking DHEA, because DHEA is converted into androgens and estrogen in the body, and will have an impact on the levels of those hormones. Do not take DHEA if you are pregnant or nursing. DHEA is an anti-aging, longevity DHEA enhanced mood, energy, and memory DHEA improved immune system DHEA boost sex drive (especially in women) DHEA reduced

Highly potent & balanced combination of Prostate supportive herbs Helps maintain healthy prostate & reproductive system Supports healthy bladder function & clears toxins Promotes strong & healthy urine flow Strengthen the immune system The prostate is a walnut sized gland that sits just below the bladder in men and is an integral part of the male reproductive system. Made up of two lobes and enclosed by a layer of tissue, the prostate goes through two main periods of growth. The first occurs early in puberty, when the prostate doubles in size. At around the age of 25, the gland begins to grow again. This second growth phase often results in what is identified as an enlarged prostate. As the prostate gets larger, the layer of tissue surrounding it stops it from expanding, causing the gland to press against the urethra. While the data varies, it is believed that most men over the age of 45 experience some amount of prostate enlargement, but may live symptom free. This enlargement is usually harmless, but it often results in problems urinating later on in life. By 60, it is believed that 80% of all men experience some sort of urinary interference due to prostate enlargement. Enlargement of the Prostate Enlargement of the prostate is not a malignant condition, but it does put pressure on the urethra and can create a number of urinary complaints such as frequent urination, urinary urgency, the need to get up at night to urinate, difficulty starting, a reduction to the force of the urine stream, terminal dribbling, incomplete emptying of the bladder and even the inability to urinate at all. If left unchecked, benign prostatic hypertrophy can cause serious problems over time including urinary tract infections, bladder or kidney damage, bladder stones or incontinence. Enlarged Prostate and Potential Impotency It is important to take care of your prostate and address any prostate, be it an enlarged prostate, prostetitis (inflammation of the prostate) or prostate cancer

The first thing most people think of when they hear of the milk thistle plant is the milky sap that fills its stalks. In The 16th century, the plant was quite popular, with nearly all parts of the plant being eaten. The raw roots were often eaten plain, boiled or roasted, while the shoots were boiled as a vegetable. The leaves were often treated in a manner similar to spinach, and the spiny portion of the flower was eaten like an artichoke. Indeed, Early Christians even dedicated the plant to Mary, and referred to Milk Thistle as Marian Thistle. Today however, the plant`s seeds are what have better earned the claim to fame. For 2000 years they have been used to treat liver issues, and aid in protecting the liver from toxins, with increasing scientific research as to the therapeutic and medicinal properties. Today studies have reported that the seeds can be used to treat liver cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis, toxin induced liver damage and gall bladder disorders. Milk Thistle seeds have also been shown to help reduce and eliminate liver damage. Outside of treating the liver, some studies have also shown that they can lower cholesterol levels and reduce insulin resistance for those with diabetes. In cancer treatments, some have shown that the seeds can reduce the growth of cancer cells in breast, cervical, and prostate cancers though further study is required in this matter. Milk Thistle seeds have also been shown promise in aiding with substance abuse, diminishing the withdrawal symptoms of opiate addiction This is a 2 oz packet of whole Milk Thistle seeds.

The prostate is a doughnut shaped gland located behind the pubic bone and below the bladder in males. It surrounds the neck of the bladder and the urethra, a small tubular structure that drains urine from the bladder to the penis. The prostate gland is a common site of disorders in the male genitourinary system. As men age, their prostate gland often enlarges. This condition is referred to as Benign Prostate Hypertrophy or BPH. Over 50% of American men will develop an enlarged prostate in their lifetime. Dietary supplementation of nutrients essential for prostate health have been shown to be effective in the relief of BPH. Cancer of the prostate is a common malignancy in American men, second only to skin cancer. In fact, nearly 200,000 American men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year. Dietary supplementation of the dietary nutrients IP-6, Quercetin and Lycopene have shown to be helpful when used for Prostate cancer. Symptoms of benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancero

It would depend on if the prostate itself is swollen and choking off the urethra (which is one of the same symptoms of benign prostate hypertrophy AKA BPH). Frequent urination or the sensation of needing to go but can’t is quite common. In both cases, the person needs to see a urologist. He most likely will conduct a PSA test, the normal range for that test is 0-4. A digital exam will also help determine if there is any hardening of the prostate indicating a tumor. There is much more involved, however, if you are 50 or over, you should get a PSA test done once a year. My husband was fine last year then this year he had stage 3 prostate cancer that was discovered with the yearly test.
I wish you the best!

I need to find out what could be wrong with my dad.My father lives in Eastern Europe and he called me the other day saying that he is getting blood test done for prostate cancer.I freaked out and forgot to ask him why he thought he may have it.Also that he was gonna get ultrasound etc…He called today,said blood test results came back and it was negative for cancer cells so whatever they found b4 was not cancerous.But he said that for past year he had to go to bathroom many times especially in the middle of the night and even after he goes,he doesnt feel that he had emptied,like there was still urine left,so he will be having ultrasound done soon to see what may be wrong.He doesn’t have UTI,he doesn’t see blood in urine.What are other possible causes for these symptoms cause it’s been going on for a long time.Thanx for all answers in advance.
In older people, prostate gland is enlarged due to age and Not due to anything else and that will cause the problems you mentioned. He will need to take a pill daily and the problem will be in check. ultimately he will some scrapping of his prostate, done by a long tube and then scrapping inside, he may need to stay in the hospital for a day or so. This is so common operation that may be one in a million will have problem, so I would not worry too much

For years now, I’ve had many of the symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate. Difficulty starting, weak stream, getting up at night, and going frequently. I haven’t experienced any pain associated with this. I recently had a prostate exam and also the blood test for prostate cancer, both of which were negative. My doctor gave me a prescription to knock out any possible bladder infection, but that didn’t change anything. Is there any other condition that could cause these symptoms?
I’m a fit 33 year old, no immediate family history of prostate cancer. I drink about 16 oz of coffee in the morning, and then plenty of tea and water throughout the day. I excercise 5 evenings a week, and drink a moderate amount of water afterwards. I think this may explain the frequency but don’t know about other symptoms.
I’m a nurse. Your muscles are weak in this area, this is the result. I wouldn’t worry but try to drink fluids in moderation. This could also contribute to your problem. Tea and/coffee can make the muscles weak as well. I hope this helps you. Take care and all the best.

MaleBalance Cream is a combination of ingredients that have been studied for their ability to meet mens changing needs which are brought on as a natural part of the aging process. Application is made simple with the convenient pump dispenser. Progesterone for Prostate Health James South, M.A. For middle-aged and older men, especially those over age 50, prostate problems are an unpleasant fact of life. It is estimated that half of men in the 50-plus age group suffer from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), an abnormal enlargement of the prostate gland. This swelling of the prostate usually manifests as urinary problems: urinary frequency, urinary hesitation, reduced urinary flow, etc. The prostate gland is also the most common site for cancer to develop, with over 300,000 new cases in the U.S. in 1996. The medical establishment places the blame for these prostate problems on the male hormones testosterone (T) and dihydrotestosterone (DHT), yet this belief generates an obvious paradox. The highest levels of T/DHT occur in young men, and T/DHT levels drop with aging. Yet prostate problems are almost non-existent in young men, while they increase with age, affecting 90 percent of all men by age 85, when T/DHT levels are extremely low. The Estrogen Connection An important determinant of male hormonal health is the testosterone/estrogen balance (T/E). Healthy male physiology depends on a high T:E ratio. Although testosterone is the male hormone, men naturally produce small amounts of estrogen from testosterone. With aging, the T:E ratio drops, often dramatically. An enzyme called aromatase, especially prevalent in fat cells, converts testosterone to estrogen. Since most men lose muscle and gain fat as they age, aromatase activity increases, reducing testosterone even as it increases estrogen. Many scientists have commented on the importance of estrogen and the T:E ratio in promoting prostate problems. M. Krieg and colleagues note numerous experiments indicate that

Green tea comes from the same plant as black tea: Camellia sinensis. The difference is that green tea is steamed after picking, but not fermented. The lack of fermentation allows green tea to retain a number of bioactive substances called polyphenols.1 The main classes of polyphenols are phenolic acids and flavonoids. Among the more abundant flavonoids are the catechins (pronunciation: KAT-eh-kins). In recent years green tea has attracted the attention of medical researchers who are exploring its therapeutic potential for the following conditions: cancers of the lung, liver, mouth, colon, rectum, bladder, stomach, pancreas, esophagus, prostate, and skin1,2 B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia3 high blood pressure, high cholesterol, atherosclerosis, high blood sugar, and heart disease4,1 Parkinsons and Alzheimers diseases5,6 viral and bacterial infections7, including influenza8 tooth decay, bad breath9,10 The component of green tea that has generated the most interest is the catechin epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). Many of the potential applications of green tea have been attributed to EGCGs antioxidant properties, but may actually involve other mechanisms.1 For example, EGCG is also a strong inhibitor of the enzyme telomerase that is required for tumor growth.11 Experiments have shown that EGCG and other ingredients in green tea can kill cancer cells while sparing (and even protecting) healthy cells.12 The concentrations of EGCG used in anti-cancer experiments have usually been higher than could be obtained in the body by the drinking of green tea.1 Green tea extracts that contain EGCG in concentrated form offer a practical way to

im 20 yrs old and im experiencing a burning sensation when i urinate. i think this is a symptom of a prostate cancer
It sounds more like a urinary tract infection to me. And it won’t go away by itself. You have to get antibiotics from your doctor, and be sure to take them all, even though you feel better. If prostate cancer runs in your family, you might want to have it checked out. But 20 yrs old sounds very young. Most men don’t start getting symptoms till well after 50. The main symptom is not being to empty your bladder, and having a very weak stream.

i have a friend who has something wrong with his prostate ,the doctor told him that he might have prostate cancer , he needs to check further .what are symptoms of prostate cancer ?
The only true symptoms of prostate cancer are and elevated PSA test. An enlarged prostate itself if not always cancer. That could be benign prostatic hypertrophy aka an enlarged prostate. My dad has prostate cancer plus I am a nurse so if you have more questions just ask.

Nutritional Support For:• Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (prostate enlargement) • Prostatitis • Prostate Cancer Protection Nearly 60% of men between the ages of 40 and 60 have an enlarged prostate gland, known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The annual medical cost for BPH in the U.S. alone is over a billion dollars. Rectal examination usually discloses an enlarged prostate gland with a rubbery consistency. BPH is attributed to a buildup of testosterone in the prostate. Once inside the prostate, testosterone is converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a powerful substance that stimulates the prostatic cells to multiply excessively. As the prostate enlarges it presses against the urethra, thus obstructing the flow of urine from the bladder.

My husband recently told me for the past year he’s been having trouble peeing – It wouldn’t start when he felt he had to go and once it did begin, it hurt. I asked him hurt how? and he said kind of like peeing razor blades. His dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2006, and the doctor instructed my husband to get checked when he turned 30 because this could be hereditary. Also, he’s currently experiencing a lot of pain in his scrotal area – The right side was swollen last night when he got home from work, and he said he felt like he had pulled a groin muscle (was almost limping) – Is it possible it could be cancer? Or are we over paranoid?
NO YOU ARE NOT PARANOID – Has he been to a doctor for a psa and rectal exam. I would think he should. I have had prostate problems since I was 19 and believe me it is not fun. Mainly with pain in his scrotum – he should be examined. If it turns out just prostatitus I can tell you a remedy after some antibiotics that you both can work on or if he has to do like me and take care of it himself and that is to have sex on a regular basis. Same days every week – the medical reason being that the prostate generates fluid to be passed when ejaculation occurs. It builds this fluid supply on a routine basis. If this is not used there is an overabundance so this builds pressure in the prostate causeing swelling. The urethra passes thru the prostate and the flow of urine is affected causeing low flow, not emptying creating the urge to go more. I took control of mine by masturbating the same two days every week (Tuesday & Friday) cause my wife didn’t want sex. Are you gonna tell him this? I hope so cause that hurts like heck. Good luck.

I was looking at the symptoms of prostate cancer and saw that if it has spread that it could cause your legs to swell. Also, can it cause for you not to be able to have an erection, or keep one.
I need serious answers please, this is just ammo for me to get my husband to get to the doctors… Thank you…
I can give you lots of ammo for that. My husband died of prostate cancer in 2007. Prostate cancer may have almost no symptoms at all until it is too late. The most usual symptom is having to get up to pee in the night, but that can also be a symptom of other things. By the time he experienced swelling in his ankles from prostate cancer, it would be very advanced, and he would have many other symptoms.
When prostate cancer spreads, often the first place it is apparent is in the bones. Cancer in the bones is excruciatingly painful. My husband suffered for months because of the cancer that had spread to his spine, and other bones.
Believe me, if he gets prostate cancer, whether or not he gets and maintains an erection will be the least of his worries. Erectile dysfunction is more likely to be a result of prostate cancer surgery than the cancer before it is diagnosed.
Many men avoid the prostate cancer checks because they are afraid of the rectal exam. Ask him if he would prefer a rectal exam that lasts a few seconds or months of having to wear a catheter because the cancer in his prostate has grown so much that he can no longer pass urine. And in any case, the main test for prostate cancer is a blood test, the PSA test.
My husband was a fit, active healthy man, whose only symptom was needing to pee in the night. He was still going up the mast of our sailboat, and also doing the work at the top of the masts of other sailboats for men much younger than him. He jumped from the edge of a canal to a sailboat that was loose in the canal during a hurricane in North Carolina and saved that boat and other boats that were tied in the canal on the night before the cancer was diagnosed. He lived less than 18 months after the diagnosis.
Tell your husband to go get checked. It is not a big deal, and it could be the difference between life and death. Feel free to email me if you need more information.

There are no early reliable symptoms of prostate cancer. If present, they may mimic an enlarged prostate (aka BPH) or prostatitis.
Remember the definition of symptoms is something the patient complains about, and a sign is something the observer (physician) and identify (prostate nodule or elevated PSA).

The Prostate Cancer Foundation suggests that men have their prostates checked by the age of forty. Early detection is key, but what can be done about unhealthy prostate function? What is Unhealthy Prostate Function? An unhealthy prostate causes pressure to be placed on the urethra, the tube that carries urine from your bladder out of your body. As the prostate grows, it applies more and more pressure inward, on the urethra, which may cause urinary difficulties. Signs of Unhealthy Prostate Function High frequency of urination Immediate need to urinate Trouble sleeping due to need to urinate at night Weak or dribbling stream Straining to urinate Difficulty starting Pain or burning sensation during urination Feeling that bladder is not completely empty after urination Prostatade – The Natural Solution! Natural Alternative Effective in 2 to 4 weeks May have anti-inflammatory properties May have antioxidant properties Better than Saw Palmetto May help inhibit the enzyme 5alpha-reductase No known side effects No prescription needed What is the active ingredient & how does it work? Epilobium (Family Onagraceae) is the primary active ingredient in Prostatade. Clinical studies have revealed that Epilobium Parviflorum may have an inflammation-inhibiting and healing effect on acute and chronic inflammation of the prostate and may help to reduce the gland to its normal size. Suggested Use: 15 drops, twice a day. Ingredients: ProlobiumTM (Patent Pending (Epilobium angustifolium, parviflorum, leaves, flowers, seeds) Extract. Other ingredients: Water and alcohol. Hi Ravilio Casa and thanks for writing, from what you have shared with me I’m sorry but I would guess that your Father will probably pass away within two months.
Below is an excerpt which I think should answer all your questions. I hope this helps and I wish you the very best during the coming days and weeks. God Bless.
Preparing for Approaching Death
When a person enters the final stage of the dying process, two different dynamics are at work which are closely interrelated and interdependent. On the physical plane, the body begins the final process of shutting down, which will end when all the physical systems cease to function. Usually this is an orderly and undramatic progressive series of physical changes which are not medical emergencies requiring invasive interventions. These physical changes are a normal, natural way in which the body prepares itself to stop, and the most appropriate kinds of responses are comfort enhancing measures.
The other dynamic of the dying process at work is on the emotional-spiritual-mental plane, and is a different kind of process. The spirit of the dying person begins the final process of release from the body, its immediate environment, and all attachments. This release also tends to follow its own priorities, which may include the resolution of whatever is unfinished of a practical nature and reception of permission to “let go” from family members. These events are the normal, natural way in which the spirit prepares to move from this existence into the next dimension of life. The most appropriate kinds of responses to the emotional-spiritual-mental changes are those which support and encourage this release and transition.

i was told he would get a blood test with a psa search but i have no idea what it means
The first test is indeed called PSA = prostatic specific antigen. It is a screen test, generally a prostate examination , just with a rectal exam is done together with this test.
It is a screen test and gives a lot of false positives, as the level is also raised in PBH = benign prostatic hypertrophy. It also occasionally gives false negatives, i.e. it can be normal in patients with prostate cancer, so the result alone needs to be viewed with caution.
The test is currently used for routine screening ( all men over 40 get the test a bit like cervical screening ) in US but not in UK where doctors have concerns about its reliability and indeed are sometimes unsure how to proceed if the test result is a low positive.

Prostate cancer is related to heredity, diet, and ethnicity. And sometimes it just happens without any obvious risk factors.
Most commonly, it’s discovered as part of a routine physical exam. In most cases, diagnosis precedes the appearance of any clinical symptoms. Advanced cases of prostate cancer may be accomanied by disruption of urinary or sexual functions. Once the cancer metastasizes, it tends to lodge in bone, especially in the spine and pelvic areas. In the final stages, the cancer weakens bones, causing spontaneous fractures progressing to painful failure of the skeletal system.

The urologist carried out an internal examination and said the bladder was "pristine"and could find no reason except that radiotherapy affects people in different ways. Will I just have to accept this. I do not take painkillers as I am worried about long term effects.
I would go and see your doctor and talk to him/her about your problem before taking any pain killers..as there maybe an under lying problem,they maybe able to give you advice what you should do.I’m not trying to scare you but..you are better to talk with your doctor.

Restored Balance Products Prostate Care Progesterone Cream for Men Restored Balance Prostate Care Cream 2oz – 17.95 & Free Shipping According to Dr. John R. Lee (He is the pioneer of using Natural Progesterone cream for women), it is falling progesterone level in aging men that leads to a fall in testosterone levels. As the testosterone levels fall, the effect of estradiol increases, leading to Estrogen Dominence. Estradiol (the most powerful Estrogen) promotes the onco (cancer) gene, Bcl-2, while progesterone promotes the protective gene known as p53 which slows cell apoptosis. Evidence exists to show that prostate hypertrophy and prostate cancer are correlated with the condition of estradiol dominance. Dr. Lee, Dr. Eckhart, Dr. Maher, Dr. Hanley and Dr.Pensanti believe that it is excessive exposure to estrogen that is the primary cause of prostate enlargement and prostate cancer. Xenoestrogens in the environment are among the culprits. While estrogen dominance raises the risk of prostate cancer, natural progesterone helps prevent it. Natural progesterone will balance this estrogen dominance. Progesterone is also a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor — it helps prevent the conversion of testosterone into DHT which is thought to contribute to prostate enlargement. What “Modern” medicine has to offer you if you have prostate enlargement are drugs and surgery that are only sometimes effective and often have side effects such as impotence, urinary dysfunction (for surgery, these side effects are permanent), decreased libido, breast enlargement and expense ($2/pill for Proscar). Natural approach to a healthy prostate gland is preferable if you are a man over the age of 50. _____________________________________________________ The most common problem associated with the prostate is enlargement of the prostate itself. This results in a narrowing of the urethra and can lead to many different urinary problems including the need to urinate three to four times a night, trouble in

i have two symptoms of prostate cancer they are dribbling after peeing and i need to urinate more often but im 16 should i be worried and go to the doctor?
It is beyond unlikely that you have prostate cancer. It’s extremely rare in men under 50, and so rare in young men that there are no statistics available for the disease incidence in men under 35.
Over 80% of men diagnosed with prostate cancer are over 65 and half of all cases occur in men over 75.

Hello Everyone,
If your doctor has determined that you do NOT have prostate cancer, but have a large prostate, what causes this to happen in the first place? I am aware that frequent urination is a main sign of an enlarged prostate, but what causes the prostate to grow in the first place?

July is PSA awareness month. Men over 40 need to have a simple blood test. PSA levels that are high or that change drastically can be a warning indicator of prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is easily treatable IF caught early!!!
This info is incredibly important. Absolutely have a PSA test done if you are over 40, and repeat the test every year from then on. If it rises significantly, like a half point or more, repeat the test and if the increase persists, discuss with your physician about having a biopsy. If you catch prostate cancer early, it if very treatable. If you catch it late, it can kill you. Enough said.

My uncle had prostate cancer. Others here have listed the symptoms, so I won’t repeat them. In my uncle, it was diagnosed as a result of his normal yearly physical.
His doctor told him that prostate cancer is very slow growing, but they could go in and remove it if he wanted. After asking a lot of questions, and the doctor telling him that at his age at the time (in his 70′s) that he would most likely die from heart problems or "natural causes" before he would die of the cancer, he decided not to do anything.
But the doctor was wrong in his case. He died 3 years later, as a result of the cancer.
It did grow slowly at first, but toward the end it went pretty quickly. His last year he began to have the common symptoms of advanced cancer, but by the last couple of months he was in a lot of pain and discomfort. He was in a hospice facility for about a month before his death so they could medicate him enough to relieve the pain.
Although it is considered a slow growing cancer, my personal opinion, after losing 4 family members to cancer (uterine, protstate, leukemia, and 1 unknown because it was so advanced there were tumors everywhere), and 1 who’s currently battling it (liver), is don’t be happy with that answer.
First, if you have not been diagnosed see a doctor ASAP before assuming you have it, and make sure whether or not you do. I say ASAP because every day earlier you catch cancer, the better your chances. If you have already been diagnosed, perhaps obtain a second opinion on whether you should seek treatment now rather than wait. My uncle’s children now say they wish he had gone ahead and had it removed when it was still contained in the prostate – because he might still be alive today.
The very best of luck to you (or whomever is going through this).

None of the above. They may be symptoms of cancer once it spreads from the prostate to other areas. I had no symptoms and prostate cancer was detected as a result of annual physical and blood check for cholesterol. My PSA went from 1.5 to 4.5 in 12 months. Doctor ordered biopsies and cancer was detected in 1 of 12 areas. The Gleason score was 4+4=8 (aggressive tumor) I had the prostate removed a month later. They found cancer in the sections the biopsies missed.
I was 59 when it was removed. With no symptoms.

I have been checked for diabetes and I have no infections of any kind according to blood and urine samples yet I am going very frequently. I don’t have kidney stones either. My doctor says he is not worried about it, but something is causing me to go more than normal. I’m only 32 so prostate should be out of the question. Any suggestions?
Urinating too much liquid ("polyurea") needs to be distinguished from the slightly different symptoms of excessively frequent urination, urinary dribbling, or unusual urgency to urinate. Urinating too much fluid or urinating too often can indicate several serious medical conditions. Some possibilities include urinary tract infections, bladder conditions (e.g. interstitial cystitis), or prostate conditions (e.g. BPH). Also possible are metabolic conditions such as Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, or diabetes insipidus. Seek prompt professional medical advice about urination symptoms
These are just a few diseases or infectios that could cause your problems. You did not say if you was drinking water excessively. If so maybe Diabetes Insipidus. Not related to diabetes….

I have been told that I have an enlarged prostate. I have had problems with it since my mid 20s. I am now only 28.
Should I get a tested regularly for cancer or should I not worry about that until I am older.
Please leave sources.
Thanks
All of that and still no answer to your question!
You are very young to have BPH so I understand your concern. Prostate cancer in older men do far better than younger men and young in prostate cancer terms is under 55. I’m sorry I don’t have a resource to send you to. I am answering based on my experience dealing with cancer cases everyday and having an ex-husband who is a urologist. It doesn’t hurt to be tested periodically so I would do it, but I wouldn’t spend time worrying about it either. You may want to consider clinical trials for young men with BPH. This way you will be followed closely by doctors who are very interested in prostate cancer and are researching it. This way if you should get it, especially if you are young, it gives you the best chance of overcoming it.

and also what is there to look out for and what do ur genitals start to look like. please dont make a joke of this
If you are at an age to be concerned about testicular cancer than you are too young to worry about prostate cancer.
Testicular cancer usually presents with a painless enlarged testicle, which almost always has a lump. It is not a very common cancer. The symptoms for prostate cancer are about the same for BPH and are not usually diagnosed due to symptoms as most men go for their screening exams.

I’m quite a hypercondriact and think that I have prostate cancer.
I have to go to the toilet about ten, eleven times a day (at an estimate), it takes me a while before the urine starts flowing and even then is stops and starts. Also, usually after taking a dump, my urinary bladder still feels full even though I’ve urinated.
I used to experience quite a bit of back pain, but *knock on wood* that seems to have stopped now.
I used to have HSP, and that interferes with kidneys. Is this the reason? Also, I am quite an anxious person (I take fluoxetine), does this trouble urinating just have to do with a shy bladder?
I’m scared and my parents don’t think that it is anything serious, because I’m far too young (15). Do I have it? I don’t want to go to a doctor and have a camera stuck up my butt.
Almost certainly not.
The biggest risk factor for prostate cancer is age. Over 80% of men diagnosed with it are over 65 and half of all cases occur in men over 75.
Prostate cancer is so rare in young men that there are no statistics available for the disease incidence in men under 35.
So probably not, eh?
But see a doctor for help with the problems you’re having

Weak or interrupted flow of urine;
Painful or burning urination;

i have planed on joining the army for as long as i can remember, the bad part is i might have to have my prostate removed not for cancer but for a re occurring bacterial infection that causes inflammation and is completely benign my question is can i still join the army even though i had that surgery, also i don’t plan on going into any infantry type job, im going to go into intelligence aspect of the army, does that matter?
Sounds like you have bacterial benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The surgeries to treat this often are done as an outpatient and involve enlarging the urethra opening through the prostate.
I just had the HoLAP procedure done. It was an outpatient surgery and I was quickly back at work (complete recovery in less than 3 months). There are other laser surgeries less invasive. These types of surgeries not probably no worse than having a wisdom tooth pulled. I cannot imagine that such a surgery would prevent you from serving. But, the best way to find out s to ask a recruiter.

i think i have prostate cancer, my left bum check has been hurting for quite a while now,, and theres like a little lump near my bladder, it hurts once in a while. I’m scared…
and i though it was because i stand alot because i work long hours
will i die? i just had a circumcision too, due to phimosis,
im 15 years old.
well its near the side of the bladder like the edge, and and near the penis,
Prostate cancer is so rare in young men that there are no statistics available for the disease incidence in men under 35.
It’s extremely rare in men under 50; over 80% of men diagnosed with it are over 65 and half of all cases occur in men over 75.
Pain in your buttock is not a symptom of prostate cancer. How do you know you have a lump near your bladder?
If your symptoms persist, see your doctor. But prostate cancer isn’t looking likely, is it?

It seems I have frequent urination problems only around my girlfriend. it is so strange. what can I do? A lot of it is stress related i think and anxiety over whether or not she is cheating. My prostate is healthy of course, and there is no other explanation. One doctor told me if she is cheating on me, the scent or pheramones of the other male may linger and be present with her causing me to sense the existence of the other male, causing both frequent urination or other psychological effects. If there is no other male present she could be very hormonal herself, menopause, pre-menopause, or I need psychiatric help. My question is, do humans react the same way to the scent of other males as animals do. Do we become more anxious, hypertensive and territorial -like with all the urination thing- seems crazy to me…
first off what ever doctor told you that crock of a story you do not need to go back to him. secondly your frequent urination could be most likely medically speaking, you could have a urinary track infection that you only seem to notice when you are with her and are associating your feelings of anixiety to that situation. however in any case i would seek a physician to get a order to have a urine test performed to rule out and infection, its not your prostate. and the only other likely item would be situational anxiety which would explain the frequent urination with her.

The prostate is a doughnut shaped gland located behind the pubic bone and below the bladder in males. It surrounds the neck of the bladder and the urethra, a small tubular structure that drains urine from the bladder to the penis.The prostate gland is a common site of disorders in the male genitourinary system.As men age, their prostate gland often enlarges. This condition is referred to as Benign Prostate Hypertrophy or BPH.Over 50% of American men will develop an enlarged prostate in their lifetime.Dieta ry supplementation of nutrients essential for prostate health have been shown to be effective in the relief of BPH.Cancer of the prostate is a common malignancy in American men, second only to skin cancer. In fact, nearly 200,000 American men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year.Dietary supplementation of the dietary nutrients IP-6, Quercetin and Lycopene have shown to be helpful when used for Prostate cancer.

Is it easy to find.?? What are its main advantages??. I read about it a lot but fail to recall the specific name of this blood test. I appreciate your help sincerely. Please inform me.
There are other PSA tests like the ultrasensitve PSA, and PSA free and total. These tests measure down to the hundredths the level of the antigen. Have you asked your doctor?

I have trouble starting urinating. I have microscopic blood in my urine. I have trouble emptying my bladder. I have pain in my lower back and pelvis.
The swollen prostate with all your symptoms does not necessarily mean you have cancer. The blood bothers me though. Please go see a good Urologist. He will do a biopsy on your prostate and will treat the enlarged gland. I have had all your symptoms as do 50% of Men over the age of 50. Check out the blood thing though.

It isn’t that frequent. Like I’m not getting up in the middle of the night or anything. I don’t think it is anything necessarily serious, especially since I am in my early 20′s. Is it a sign of a less-than-healthy prostate though? Should I be worried as I get older?
And it’s not Chlamydia. I’ve been tested for it in the past.
You say it isn’t that frequent ?? but it is obviously enough to concern you . It could be just a chill on your bladder of kidneys . I suggest you give it a week to settle down and if it is still an issue take a sample along to your doctor and ask for it to be tested for infection

My father is 65 and has metastatic prostate cancer. He’s taking calutide and zoladex monthly. Due to obstruction in urination for long time, we got his channel TURP surgery done last month. The urine flow was good for about 20 days. After that he felt slight decrease in urine flow. One morning suddenly there was full urine obstruction and we rushed him to hospital and got catheter inserted.
Doctor said that his prostate tissues have obstructed the urine channel in just one month which is rather unusual.
My question is:
- Can cancer tissues grow so fast in just 1 month after channel TURP? Every doctor mentioned it’s a relief for atleast few years.
- Catheter went inside with lot of difficulty and is not a permanent relief. Should we go for direct insertion of tube in urine bladder?
His gleason grade is 9. PSA is under 4 but showed slight increase from 1.96 to 2.4 approx.
Please see the webpages for more details on Transurethral resection of the prostate.
I am 69 years old and taking Alfuzosin hydrochloride (generic name) to shrink prostate gland. In some cases, TURP is not 100% successful and hence a second operation is done to remove the obstructive tissue.

I’m 14 dis year and i realised recently that at night when I am about to sleep I would have dis feeling of going to de toilet to urine…however everytime i do that only a little bit of urine comes out, my urine is clear. I read an article that frequent urination at night is a symptom of prostate cancer, but does my case classify as frequent urination at night? I also have pain on de left side of my pelvis and it is below my belly button. Am i suffering from prostate cancer? I do not have any of the other symptoms though.
I REALLY DOUBT IT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH CANCER MAYBE ITS JUST A PROSTATE PRBLEM BUT YOU SHOULD VISIT A DOCTOR…

I just had a physical, including blood work. They told me I need to go back to retake my PSA test. Why? And do I need to fast again for 12 hours?
Greg, I have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and treated for it. The test you are referring to is a PSA which is useful in calling for further investigation of the possibility of cancer. It is not the end all as far as tests go but mine was repeated several times to get consistent readings. I believe I did have to fast before each. If the PSA results indicate a suspicious number, then in my case a biopsy was done to confirm the diagnosis of cancer. The biopsy was uncomfortable, a tad embarrassing but otherwise not excessively painful – I felt a little pin prick or "pinch" as the doc took three or four samples. In your case, maybe they just screwed up the PSA portion of your exam and need to do it over. They can’t get accurate readings without the fasting. It’s important Greg, so go get it over with and best wishes for a "no sign of cancer" result.

I mean just in terms of general discomfort… not involving sticking hands up butts and feeling around.
See… I’ve got this interesting pain just a tiny bit northward of my groinal parts…. a rather inexplicable and temporary pain, but uncomfortable in an amusing sort of way regardless.
I know my family are rather prone to cancer… my mother’s father and my own father both having died of it… and since one in three people die of cancer at some point, I wouldn’t be surprised if I’d go the same way (unless I voluntarily end myself before that).
I’m just wondering if pains in that region could indicate cancer at all or whether its just something else. It didn’t go away when I went for a p!ss… so its not bladder issues, I imagine…
Oh…. and no… I’m not going to see a doctor.
If it is cancer, I fully intend to just suffer it out to whatever end it may bring.
[Note to theists: life is not sacred... its an accident, and is fundamentally worthless, including mine.]
[Response to first answer]: I could counter your question by asking "Why not bother?" … I just want to know… thats all. I suppose for the same reason you might want to know what your brother’s girlfriend is like, assuming you have a brother with a girlfriend. Its just curiosity… plain and simple.
[Note to Dogzilla]: Pain for the most part is just a random sensation to me. I have been adapting to deconnect it from any emotional triggers… and so I don’t mind it any more. However, it is safe to say that having doctors fiddling with my parts would make me psychologically uncomfortable. As such the physical pain is generally the lesser of two evils (except when its particularly extreme, since the emotion-disconnection process isn’t perfected yet).
One might say I am taking the path to Nihilistic enlightenment….. or resolution of the self.
well, even if you DO see a doctor, it’s not like he can force you to receive treatment. i agree with you on the accidental, futile nature of life, but i figure, if i’m alive now, i might as well enjoy it as much as possible and have as fun and fulfilling a life as possible.
so if i were you, i’d go to the doctor. if it was something easily treatable that wouldn’t infringe on my life (such as a daily pill or something), i’d take the treatment. if i found out it was cancer, i’d just refuse treatment and enjoy the remainder of my life as much as possible.
i’m sure you agree when i say i’d rather have 6 months of good, functional living and then die, as opposed to spending 5 years on chemo, and finally dying miserably.
oh, and to really answer your question, i’m sorry, i have no idea what prostate cancer feels like, though i hear that since it causes your prostate to swell, it usually causes difficulty urinating, very frequent urinating, or painful urinating.

Product description Men’s concern over prostate health centers around two main potential problems. The most common is Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy, or BPH, where the prostate enlarges and causes several annoying symptoms, such as the frequent urge to urinate, especially at night. Besides diet and exercise, several supplements can help. Prost Answer supplement, formula that bring together several “prostate-friendly” nutrients in one convenient product. Avodart is a prescription drug that will do it. Ask you physican for a prescription if you have an enlarged prostate. Enlarged prostates are a common problem for elderly males; if yu are not over 50 and have one then you best see a urologist about it. For anyone with an enlarged prostate, seeing a urologist would be a good idea. But Avordart does work; it will reduce the size of the prostate but it takes several months or more of daily use before it has a noticeable effect. You will know when it does in your urine stream.

From starman’s google: A need to urinate frequently, especially at night;
Difficulty starting urination or holding back urine;
Weak or interrupted flow of urine;
Painful or burning urination;
Difficulty in having an erection;
Painful ejaculation;
Blood in urine or semen; or
Frequent pain or stiffness in the lower back, hips, or upper thighs.
Any of those symptoms is a test you can do on your own. Doesn’t mean cancer though, means enlarged prostate.

Don’t ask medical questions on here. Some idiot will likely tell you that you have some dangerous disease or something. the only way to know anything for certain is to go see you own doctor, even a doctor on here would not be able to give a proper diagnosis without examining you and having your medical background

I always curl up near my waist over whatever, and don’t sit up straight.
I’m 13. Also i pee a lot and there is no blood. I have a bladder problem according to my doctor. I found a soar under my P**** but it doesn’t look cancerous. I have pain in my waist and legs, but I think it’s a muscle strain which one is it?
At your age, prostate cancer is highly unlikely. The sore on your penis has nothing to do with prostate cancer, either.
Here’s a list of symptoms that indicate the need for prostate cancer screening:
* A frequent need to urinate, especially at night.
* Difficulty starting or stopping the urinary stream.
* A weak or interrupted urinary stream.
* A painful or burning sensation during urination or ejaculation.
* Blood in urine or semen.
That you have already been diagnosed with a bladder problem, that takes care of the first three symptoms. Since you don’t have pain during urination, or have blood in your urine, prostate cancer looks even less likely.

Triple Defense is a unique combination of nutrients that may help the body in the fight against cancer. Various laboratory studies performed using ingredients found in Triple Defense have shown beneficial effects in breast, colon, skin, liver bladder and lung cancer. They suggest that these ingredients may also be beneficial in the relief and risk reduction of these cancers in humans. Human clinical studies are currently being conducted including a Phase I trial at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center with women at high risk for breast cancer. This study is in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute at the National Institute for Health. Soy Isoflavones have exhibited properties that suggest they may help to lower the risk of cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, and for the relief of menopause symptoms such as hot flashes. They may help reduce the risk of several types of cancer, including breast, lung, colon, rectal and prostrate cancer. Calcium D-glucarate may enhance the bodys capacity to resist many types of carcinogens and toxins and has been shown to inhibit cancer in laboratory animals in over 30 published cancer research journals. One of the major detoxification pathways in our bodies is called glucoronidation. It is a chemical reaction where the body combines a water-soluble substance in the body with a toxin or carcinogen and removes it from the body. D-glucarate has been shown to inhibit the enzyme responsible for reversing glucoronidation, improving the likelihood that normal detoxification processes may continue. Lycopene is the most efficient scavenger of singlet oxygen of all the common carotenoids and is able to quench free radicals twice as efficiently as beta-carotene. Current research suggests that lycopenes powerful antioxidant activity confers a high degree of protection against cholesterol oxidation, a process believed to influence prostate cancer. By-products of the oxidation

none, unless you are having problems. meds that shrink the prostate contain estrogens, which have other issues in a male body. yes, they shrink the prostate, but can also cause sexual problems or developing breast tissue. doctors only use them in cases where the enlarged gland is obstructing urine flow or causing pain. also, dont assume BPH if it isnt a doctor saying that. you can’t diagnose yourself safely. dont assume it is one thing or another, because the same symptoms can be prostate cancer or other issues.

I have looked this up and cannot seem to find a clear answer. So if anyone out there could help i would greatly appreciate it. If a man has an enlarged prostate does that mean he is infertile. My boyfriend has an enlarged prostate, but thank God no prostate cancer. Sometimes when we have sex he ejaculates a lot, and sometimes it is very little. Is the semen he is ejaculating capable of fertilization, or are men with enlarged prostates infetile? Thanks for the help!
maybe infertile or it may be a different hormone disorder , he really ought to see the doctor!

My brother is over the age of 50, making frequent trips to the bathroom during the night? these symptoms may indicate that he has a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate or a cancerous enlargement of the prostate, How to determine , is there any other symptoms?
Most prostate cancers are not symptomatic until they are in later stages, however, when symptoms do develop, they may include frequent trips to the bathroom, increased urinary urgency (meaning the urge comes suddenly and can’t be held very long), erectile difficulties, dribblling after urination, pelvic and/or lower back pain. Some of these symptoms are also the same for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) which is the non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate. The only way to tell for sure is to have a physical exam (A DRE – doctor inserts lubricated finger in rectum to feel the prostate gland for any abnormalities, humiliating, yes, but it is not that bad and can save your life!!!), blood tests for PSA (prostate specific antigen detected in the blood, and when elevated can suggest the presence of prostate cancer), transrectal ultrasound, and/or biopsy if the other tests are suspicious. As an aside, any man over 40 or with any urinary difficulties should begin prostate cancer screening. When caught early, it is highly curable. When caught too late, it is not. Often when younger men get it, it tends to be more aggressive so get checked!!!!

My father was overtreated with radiation for prostate cancer and has suffered some serious side effects. The latest is a large defect in the inner wall of the rectum which connects to the bladder and continuously drains urine. Anyone with similar problems of urinary incontinence and or suggestions?
This is a sensitive issue,please be empathetic.
5 years ago I had seed implants for prostate cancer and only someone like you or your dad would believe the side effects I have experienced! There are doctors that occaisionally visit this site and they will be quick to say that the medical literature doesn’t support my blaming the seeds and the follow-up external beam radiation I was treated with for these side effects, HOWEVER: Before my treatments NONE of these conditions existed and withing 6 months of the treatments I developed:
1. A weight gain of over 70 pounds which I think was caused by the severe edema in both legs and feet I developed after the seed implants, which in turn may have caused -
2 Very painful neuropathy in both legs and feet AND:
3. Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) in both legs with a clot that made it to my lung (pulmonary embolism)
4. Total incontinence ( I can’t start it, stop it and I never know when I am going to excrete urine, so I wear Depends 24/7) and have a permanent supra pubic catheter with collection bag (3 years now).
The weight gain which I have been able to shed only 40 pounds of, I believe led to my diagnosis of type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetes several months ago.
The weight gain also exacerbated my already existing arthritis in my knees and lower back plus the pubic catheter gives me a permanent "catheter infection" making surgery on my knees a no can do according to the orthopaedic surgeon.
The prostate never healed after the initial radiation procedures and the several subsequent procedures that were undertaken to try to fix the damage may have made the problems worse. I have sometimes scary episodes of blood in the catheter. There is also the discomfort of the :diapers" and the at least once every six weeks changing of the catheter.
End result of all this? I am rated 100% disabled and use a wheel chair. When the cancer was diagnosed I was phsyically able to do most anything within reason for a 60 year old.
My brother, who is 5 years older than me, had the same treatments performed at Johns Hopkins in Maryland and he is playing golf, walking 18 holes, three or four time a week!
Life is still good and I am doing my darndest to keep going. I have two new grand kids and a wonderful bunch of caring family and friends that make life worth while. But I have to admit, I never would have dreamed 5 years ago that I would be so excited about having a wheel chair lift mounted on the back of my car!
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your dad. I know some of what you are going through and I sincerely hope you both are getting through it. It sounds to me as if your dad and me have two very important things in common – we are both still alive and we both have caring family.
This was very long and I hope there aren’t too many errors.

I am currently 32, diagnosed w/diabetes at age 28, for the last 2 years i have had frequent urination during day and night with urgency. Is it common to have this problem at my age? Is there medication that could help?
Have you ever had your prostate checked? An enlarged prostate gland could cause this problem.

My Dr. ordered one, however I read the American Cancer Society doesn’t recomend them as false positives can occur. Should I skip it and just get the prostate exam with the tube looking for polyps? Is there a point to doing this as I also read if u have a polyp and it’s malignant treating the cancer can habe other serious side effects. Wouldn’t the side effects be better than potentially fatal cancer?
I think you are confused a little regarding the polyps and prostate cancer. Polyps are found in the intestines which we detect by doing a colonoscopy (exam with tubes as you say).
PSA (Prostatic specific antigen) is done to detect presence of cancer in the prostate which is out side the intestines and cannot be detected by colonoscopy. The only way see the prostate is to do an Ultra sound exam or CT scan to know the size or any suspicious looking part in the Prostate. But still doing a PSA is wise as if it is high then further tests could be undertaken to confirm the result. Most preliminary tests have false positives but it is nevertheless done for early detection of diseases. Early detection and treatment can sometimes cure diseases like cancer. So definitely do it if your doctor has recommended it and follow it up if there is anything abnormal.

What you have described are, generally speaking, signs of either infection, precancerous growth or cancer. There is simply no way to tell without having a PSA test. If you do have the PSA test and discover that it is cancer, there are treatment modalities that make prostate cancer one of the most "curable cancers", if found early. There are also changes you can make to your diet to increase the odds n your favor, such as eating hot peppers and broccoli. Two university studies have found that hot peppers apparently cause prostate cancer cells to"suicide themselves". At any rate, please have him tested asap so that he can decide on the best course of treatment and recovery, if in fact the tests find cancer.

I have, for about 3 or 4 years now had the problem of not being able to empty my bladder fully every time I go to the toilet. I have to basicly, go back and finish off minutes later. Over a year a go I thought I should get a proper opinion and went to see a specialist. He examond my penis, also took a urine sample. When the test came back he said it was just that my prostate was a bit tight but no need to be alarmed. He said to see for certain they could check by sticking a camera up through my penis. I basicly said no I cant have that and thought he thinks its fine and went on my way. Now I am worried after reading that protate cancer is a big killer in men and,as you get older it is increased risk. Since I am having trouble with mine at 23-27yrs old, is this a bad sign? Or should I not worry cos the specialist didn`t from my sample?
One more thing. The specailist told me that when I feel I need to go for a "Number 2" i should go straight away. I should never wait. Why is this?
If you are concerned about prostate cancer, you need to request a PSA blood test. Also, an enlarged prostate can be determined by a simple 10 second digital rectal exam. Request these of your doctor, and if he does not comply, find another physician.

Comprehensive Prostate Formula is a complete nutritional program for supporting prostate health with herbs, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients known to benefit the prostate gland. Herbs: Saw palmetto extract–The Saw palmetto in Comprehensive Prostate Formula is standardized to contain 85 to 90% fatty acids, which are the active ingredients in the Saw palmetto berry that promote prostate health. Three tablets supplies 320 mg, the daily dose used for prostate therapy in clinical studies.1 Pygeum extract–Pygeum is an evergreen tree native to the high plateaus of southern Africa. Pygeum bark contains phytosterols, beta sitosterol and other sitosterols, natural sterols that have been shown to normalize the prostate.2 Clinical trials establish 100 mg per as a highly effective dose of Pygeum extract, especially in combination with Nettle root.3 Nettle root extract–Nettle, also known as Stinging Nettle, grows wild in forests and fields throughout North America and Europe. Nettle root has been researched in European studies and shown to benefit the prostate and urinary tract. While the specific active ingredients in Nettle for prostate support have not been positively identified, Nettle’s effect on the prostate may stem from its content of polysaccharides and isolectin.4 300 mg per day is a clinically effective dose of Nettle root extract.3 Amino acids–The combination of L-alanine, glutamic acid and glycine were first used for prostate support in 1958. Two medical doctors administered the amino acids to allergy patients who reported improvement in urinary function.5 Lycopene–Tomatoes are rich in carotenes, natural pigments responsible for the rich variety of colors in fruits and vegetables. Lycopene gives the tomato fruit its red color. Recent research suggests that lycopene may help reduce the risk of prostate cancer.6(These findings,

There will be nearly 200,000 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed this year in the United States. This is a cancer that can be overcome if men make the effort to have a yearly physical and their PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) blood tested by their primary health care provider. In his book, Nathan relates how unexpectedly he was confronted with the possibility and eventual reality of prostate cancer through a sudden PSA elevation in what appeared to be a routine yearly checkup. He takes you with him through his psychological and spiritual experiences leading to the diagnosis, decision-making and ultimate treatment choice. He then allows you into the very core of his recovery beginning from day one following surgery. This is a book for men and couples whom would like to hear from a layperson what it is like to face prostate cancer head on. A no-holds-barred revelation, it will give comfort and encouragement to those who face this challenge as Nathan graphically relates “Things they may forget to tell you.” The book offers first hand commentary on the anxieties, expectations and realities from someone who has already been where you may be going. Finally, Nathan relates his relentless and lengthy effort to regain his sexual potency as he searches for the elusive erection.

I have this illness and is planning to take saw palmetto but I’m not sure if it is effective.
There is quite a lot of data in respected literature regarding the efficacy of Saw Palmetto Berry (Serenoa repens) in the treatment of BPH. I would recommend you take a jaunt on pubmed and see for yourself.
The key influence of Serenoa is the inhibition of an enzyme that converts regular testosterone into an extremely powerful form that generally is not supposed to last very long in your system. This powerful form of testosterone is responsible for enlarging the prostate and probably has a hand in prostate cancer. It also is the culprit in a lot of male pattern hair loss. Why is that strong hormone sticking around longer than it should? We think it’s because of the Western diet -high in red meat and junk. Our livers are responsible for neutralizing that strong hormone and when they are taxed with all the junk and extra hormones of our modern diets they cant keep up. In Western cultures -esp US, we expect about 50% of men over the age of 40 to have this condition.
When you do the research you’ll see the tremendous science -but, you will also notice recent snipey reports trying to debunk it. This is from the pharmaceutical industry which is trying to push flowmax, proscar, cadura, avodart, etc……

What are the reasons of prostate glend enlargment? are there any preventive way to stop the enlargment ??
During consideration for medical treatment .( this should not go unexamined regularly) You may want to consider refining your diet. ALong with your diet , a few supplement from your local gnc or walmart could help tremendously. i’m going to give u a web page to view that will answer more of your questions in detail , having this u may laready be aware of much of what i could say or pass along as advice. http://www.urologychannel.com/prostate/bph/treatments.shtml

My sister says her husband, age 52, is going to have to have his prostate taken out. So far he has put off setting up the operation for 4 months now. We heard that usually you get ‘radioactive pellets’ UNLESS the cancer has already spread. When she asks hubby about any of this he gets mad. He has a hectic work schedule, 16 hours days 7 days a week, and can’t bring himself to take off for this as he’ll probably never get his job back and has no other way to earn income.
Anyway, HIS explanation was that he is getting it out because ‘then he is sure the cancer is gone’, nothing to do with it being serious or spreading. In fact, he finally, after two months, told his kids he had it and painted such a ‘rosy picture’ that they haven’t even come to visit him regularly, only one day for Xmas and one for Thanksgiving, yet they live just down the street. He has no time for them due to his work schedule. Will he be out of commission 3 weeks or 3 months, we’ve heard both from him. Heeeelp !!!!!!!
I did not have this. But my friend did. They remove the prostrate when it about to spread outside the prostrate. I would not worry to much. Just get him to go to the hospital and have it done sooner than later.

I’m a 32 year old male. Recently I have been experiencing frequent urination and I can’t last 1 minute while having sex without having an orgasm. These have never, ever been a problem with me in the past. Is this a precursor to some medical condition?
Definitely sounds like a prostate problem, go see a urologist. You may have an enlarged prostate which can be easily fixed though you are quite young. Another possibility could be prostatitis which is common in males of any kind. Or it could be a UTI. Get it checked out anyway.

Hi, my dad has a testosterone level of 158. He is almost 60, and he is feeling the beginning signs of BPH (enlarged prostate). Are the two related? Is this normal? Is it cancer?
I would check that testosterone level again, sounds like it would kill a horse. The enlarged prostate is normal in men over 40, predominantly at 50. I think you mean PSA or prostate specific androgen. It does not signal cancer definitely, but is related. Biopsy is next, and necessary. Sorry for your troubles, his early detection or suspicion and testing are good.

I found in the text book That BPH is more found in central part of the prostate gland while carcinoma of prostate is found more on prepheral side.
Could someone plz give me reason for this…..
Basically Prostate is divided in two parts anatomically. Central and peripheral. Peripheral part of prostate is highly vascular and hence CA or carcinoma of prostate is of peripheral part. Regarding BPH it is a result of reduced testosterone levels at older age.

I am 38 years old and I’ve been suffering from prostatitis for 4 years now.I have seen all kinds of doctors and have taken Flomax,and other pills to help me with this,but nothing has worked out for me.I have the cancer analysis taken and it was negative.For two years now I’ve sleeping with a pillow between my legs.Is there a way anybody know that’s effective in healing the prostate gland?
There is a urologist at Stanford who has quite a different view of our problem. He has written a book called "Headache in the Pelvis" that has been well received. You can get the 4th edition at Amazon or another book store.
His idea is that you don’t have a urinary problem. The reason it has been untreatable is because nothing has been done that addresses the real problem. The problem is knots in your pelvic floor muscles that refer pain to various nearby areas. To understand this, you might want to find a copy of the Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
A lot of men get relief from a specially trained physical therapist (often one trained to work on women’s issues, but the pelvic muscles are the same), from relaxation techniques, and from drugs that relax like valium and xanax. There is a high correlation with underlying anxiety and this pain.
There is a group of guys to talk to at chronicprostatitis.com. It has been well worth the fee to join for me ($20 so they can pay their online costs). At least I know we aren’t alone.
There is a fair amount of research. Sometimes it is called nonbacterial prostatitis, sometimes chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS).
I was able to find a urologist who had read the book and understood the problem, but it wasn’t easy. Urologists make a lot of money out of us by convincing us its the prostate.

How is prostate cancer diagnosed and what are some signs or symptoms of prostate cancer? thank you
When a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood level surpasses 4 a doctor will do additional tests to rule out prostate cancer (usually a biopsy).
Some symptoms include:
A need to urinate frequently, especially at night;
Difficulty starting urination or holding back urine;
Weak or interrupted flow of urine;
Painful or burning urination;
Difficulty in having an erection;
Painful ejaculation;
Blood in urine or semen; or
Frequent pain or stiffness in the lower back, hips, or upper thighs.

Symptoms of prostate cancer may include the following: urinary problems, such as not being able to urinate, having a hard time starting or stopping the flow of urine, needing to urinate often, especially at night, weak flow of urine, urine flow that starts and stops, pain or burning during urination, difficulty having an erection, blood in the urine or semen, and/or frequent pain in the lower back, hips, or upper thighs. Prostate cancer usually does not cause symptoms in the beginning stages. By the time symptoms do occur, the disease may have spread beyond the prostate.
The “Prostate Cancer Treatment” report includes a review of possible signs and symptoms (such as weak flow of urine or painful ejactulation); descriptions of the various tests used for diagnosis (including digital rectal exam and prostate-specific antigen test); an explanation of the various stages of prostate cancer (Stages I, II, III, and IV); an overview of treatment options (including watchful waiting, surgery, and radation therapy); and also includes 10 pages of related medical terminology (to help you understand what your medical provider is talking about.

DHEA promotes optimal hormone levels. It has been shown that the hormone DHEA often declines by age 70 or later, leading to hormonal imbalances that can affect quality of life. Peak blood levels of DHEA occur at approximately age 25, decreasing progressively thereafter. Scientists have been looking at ways of restoring DHEA to youthful levels, and are now discovering mechanisms by which this hormone protects against age-related decline. 99.9% purity (European-derived DHEA) Micronized (for maximum absorption and utilization) Manufactured under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) conditions For men attempting to restore DHEA to youthful levels, they should know their serum PSA (prostate specific antigen) level and have passed a digital rectal exam. Men with prostate cancer or severe benign prostate disease are advised to avoid DHEA since it can be converted into testosterone (and estrogen). Therefore, men are advised to have a PSA and digital rectal exam before initiating DHEA to rule out existing prostate disease. For men taking DHEA we also recommend taking the following other nutrients: Vitamin E 400 IU daily Selenium 200mcg daily Super Absorbable Soy Isoflavones 55.5mg daily Gamma E Tocopherol with Sesame Lignans 200mg daily Lycopene Extract 20-40mg daily Saw Palmetto Extract 160mg twice daily Pygeum Extract 50mg twice daily Nettle Extract 120mg twice daily Boron 3-10mg daily It is important for men over 40 to consult their physician to check their PSA and DHEA-S serum levels every six to twelve months thereafter. Men should also periodically check their blood levels for free testosterone and estrogen to make sure that DHEA is following a youthful metabolic pathway. For women taking DHEA we also recommend taking the following other nutrients to maintain a healthy balance: Melatonin 300mcg nightly Vitamin E 400-800 IU daily Indole-3-carbinol 200mg daily Vitamin D3 1000-1400 IU daily Gamma Tocopherol

Unicity Products Unicity Prostate TLC 120 Sgels – Free Shipping Prostate TLC is an innovative supplement that combines many of the best natural substances known to man for promoting prostate health, including an innovative blend of saw palmetto and astaxanthin. During a man’s lifetime, the prostate undergoes changes that can eventually lead to health challenges. For instance, prostate enlargement is a common condition that can cause urination problems and other discomforts, particularly in men over age 40. Fortunately, medical scientists have demonstrated that the prostate is responsive to nutritional substances, such as certain compounds in tomatoes. Prostate TLC is an innovative supplement that combines many of the best natural substances known to man for promoting prostate health.* The National Cancer Institute has reported that DHT (dihydro-testosterone), a form of testosterone, plays a role in prostate enlargement and is believed to be involved in the development of other prostate problems. Scientists believe prostate enlargement may be controlled by regulating levels of DHT. * Unicity’s Prostate TLC contains several remarkable ingredients that support prostate health. Alphastat is a patented compound that combines two ingredients (saw palmetto and astaxanthin) currently being studied for their effects on male prostate health, including DHT regulation. Other important ingredients in this formulation include lycopene, stinging nettle root, selenium, and pumpkin seed oil.* Research Brief The male prostate is essential in human reproduction. This walnut-sized structure surrounds the neck of the urethra and bladder and is regulated by testosterone and related hormones. The primary purpose of the prostate, which consists of both glandular and muscular tissue, is to release a substance that makes semen into a liquid. Tubes from the testicles carry sperm to the prostate, where the sperm are mixed with prostate and seminal vesicle fluids and then ejaculated through

“The prostate specific antigen, or PSA, test is a simple blood test used to screen for prostate cancer. It measures the amount of PSA in a mans bloodstream. PSA is a protein produced by the cells of the prostate gland. This measurement, along with other factors, helps your primary care provider determine your relative risk for prostate cancer.
M. D. Anderson recommends that beginning at age 50, men with no family history of prostate cancer should begin annual prostate cancer screening exams. African-American men and men with a family history of prostate cancer should begin annual screening exams at age 45. Both a digital rectal exam and a PSA blood test should be performed.”

I need a real answer please ( Health Quiz).
Here’s the long answer.

Other factors are genetics and hormones.
Black men are twice as likely to develop prostate cancer as whites. Testosterone encourages the growth of prostate cancer so hormones are also a factor besides genetics.

Prostate cancer is a disease in which cancer develops in the prostate, a gland in the male reproductive system. Cancer occurs when cells of the prostate mutate and begin to multiply out of control. These cells may spread (metastasize) from the prostate to other parts of the body, especially the bones and lymph nodes. Prostate cancer may cause pain, difficulty in urinating, erectile dysfunction and other symptoms.
Symptoms
Early prostate cancer usually causes no symptoms. Often it is diagnosed during the workup for an elevated PSA noticed during a routine checkup. Sometimes, however, prostate cancer does cause symptoms, often similar to those of diseases such as benign prostatic hypertrophy. These include frequent urination, increased urination at night, difficulty starting and maintaining a steady stream of urine, blood in the urine, and painful urination. Prostate cancer may also cause problems with sexual function, such as difficulty achieving erection or painful ejaculation.
Advanced prostate cancer may cause additional symptoms as the disease spreads to other parts of the body. The most common symptom is bone pain, often in the vertebrae (bones of the spine), pelvis or ribs, from cancer which has spread to these bones. Prostate cancer in the spine can also compress the spinal cord, causing leg weakness and urinary and fecal incontinence.

both cancers have been only localized, doctors at first didnt know if it was a recurrence of prostate or bladder cancer, they say sometimes radiation causes it thx
Hi
Sorry for your recurrence.I got surgery for bladder cancer three years ago. No recurrence. Originally treated injecting bacteria in the bladder for six weeks to target the immune system intensive work the bladder.
Three of my sisters lost their fight with cancer. They went all the way with doctors recommendations (including prohibition use of natural treatments) and nothing. On my personal case, I will use a combination. Do your own search. Is YOUR life, and YOUR body… and you are not a Ginnie pig.
Boost your immune system naturally with (Noni, echinacia,cholostrum,etc) or whatever you prefer. I use 4life Transfer factors (the best of the best in my opinion-boost 427% with only two caps and in just two days). Search and try GRAVIOLA.
Hope this help.

I KNOW SOME ONE CLOSE TO ME WHO SAYS HE HAS A BALL LIKE GROWTH DIRECTLY UNDER HIS TESTICLES BUT HE’S SCARED TO GO TO THE HOSPITIAL FOR FEAR OF THE WORST. I ASKED HIM IF HE THINKS IT’S SOMETHING SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED AN HE SAYS HE’S POSITIVE IT’S NOTHING SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED. IF ANYONE KNOWS THE FIRST SIGNS OF PROSTATE CANCER OR THE SYMPTOMS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
Definately needs to go for a PSA test and then possibly a biopsy. Someone very dear to me was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer on both sides and he had no symptoms at all. They had been watching his PSA’s for about a year and decided to do a biopsy. He still has no symptoms but opted for surgery because it is a silent killer.

Prostate cancer usually does not cause symptoms in the beginning stages. By the time symptoms do occur, the disease may have spread beyond the prostate.

A very close friend of ours has been diagnosed with prostate cancer (it really *isn’t* my partner or me!) and we were wondering what his treatment options might be.
If the prostate gland is removed, does that eliminate the ability to have sex?
Probably best to have an older person answer this: it’s pretty obvious by the question that this is going to be completely out of the realm of experience for most of the teenagers.
It can, but new surgical techniques have reduced the risk. I was diagnosed with it about a year ago, but a second opinion from Johns-Hopkins said no. At least not yet. Anyhow, there are a number of different treatments that depend on the age of the patient and the stage of the disease. At my age, 50, and the very early preliminary diagnosis, removal was recommended. There is a new procedure called the da Vinci procedure that is minimally invasive and less likely to lead to the nerve damage that causes impotence. However, it is still a risk, as well as a risk of urinary incontinence. And even if you are not impotent, your orgasms will be dry – seminal fluid is produced by the prostate. There are also other procedures, such as implanting radioactive ‘seeds’ into the prostate. It is my understanding that the risk of impotence from that or any other radiation procedure is higher than da Vinci surgery, but less than with traditional surgery. Chemo and broader irradiation can be recommended in more advanced cases.
My brother had the daVinci procedure, and he is able to have sex. He uses a penile constriction band to maintain an erection; I don’t know whether he had any ED problems before. He is able to have orgasms, but as I said, they are dry.
Sometimes, again depending on the age,the stage, and how aggressive the cancer, they will recommend leaving it alone. Don’t bank on that, though.
Here’s a link with info on the daVinci procedure.
Tell your friend my thoughts and prayers are with him. I know how scary this is. I have to have regular biopsies to keep track of mine, and every time I go through hell waiting for the results.

normal PSA but they still dont know if its from prostate bladder or urether.. help
the cancer is being considered primary cancer not secondary: not a metastasis
if this person had prostate cancer three years ago and was treated and now the doctors are suspecting it came back and is now in the bladder or urethera this is very common, it is known as metastasis (meaning the cancer has spread to this area) this is why people who have gone through cancer and had therapy must be rechecked on aregular basis. You cannot be diagnosed as cancer free until you have not had any forms of cancer for 7 years. from the time of no cancer being detected after treatment until the 7th year you are considered in remission meaning body has suppressed itself from developing more cancer. Remember cancer today is nolonger a death sentence as it was once known to be. Cancer is when a normal cell during multiplication and duplication process goes freaky and continues to multiply and duplicate in a rapid fashion,(basicly "Cells Gone Wild").
